Thailand has a habit of making old men young, allowing them to relive their wild days of youth and young men come to sow their wild oats,
popping from bar to bar, getting drunk, hooking up, and having the time of their lives.
By all means hit the bars with vengeance, have fun with the ladies, let them show you the ways of Thailand,
but do not fall for the sick buffalo!
It is one of many scams Thai women will try to pull on unsuspecting western men, do not fall for it.
I have never understood how poorly educated women from Northern Thailand can pull the wool over seemingly intelligent western men, but they do.
The girls may also claim that their mother is sick, their brother is in jail, their grandfather has died, or their sister needs money for school.
Most likely they will not try these scams until after you have left and gone home. They will call you or send you an e-mail and test the waters.
If they find you lonely and missing your girl in Thailand, they will strike to get all they can.
Thai women can be so convincing and sound so sweet and innocent, they will profess their love,
promise to meet you and take care of you when you return, while you help them out with their problems.
They know what buttons to push. They share information at the bars, massage parlors, and beauty shops.
They know how to copy and paste sad stories to e-mail to you, and they have someone to translate for them and help them write those sad e-mails.
As cynical as this sounds, there is an abundance of good women in Thailand, you just have to look for them in places beside bars and massage parlors.
